OK. The book is done--a first draft, at least. It's not a novel, though. It's a novella. Also, these are some words that are in it:

The moon was big and low, full or close to it. The air was cooler outside, and the tiles of the patio and the bricks of the walk beyond were cooler still. Somewhere there was pirate with a missing boot, his peg clacking on a gangplank or a side street, planning to take our treasure. He'd never know the feeling of barefoot on bricks at midnight, or he'd only know half of it.

i am just a late-night internet wanderer and no one of consequence, i assure you. however, i, like many others, aspire to be a writer of sorts and was interested in your page. am i under the correct impression that you self-publish? i am currently 22, the age stephen crane self-published his first work, and that arbitrary deadline has set the ticking clock in motion for me. any wise words to share?
