Years ago, I had a job on the side making a website for an Atlanta club. One of my ideas for the site was industrial wastelands. Searching for stock photography, I ran across this guy's site. He'd designed sites for bands like The Shins and All Girl Summer Fun Band. I discovered both bands by way of that site, by accident, and that's when I fell in love with music, again.
One stray step, and here I am. I found The Shins long after most people, and it was only after this weird side-step into indie music, lost in strange waters, that I came into contact with the labels that have come to define the music I care to hear. I wouldn't be the pretentious jackass I am, today, if it weren't for one of Atlanta's lamest nightclubs, and if it weren't for the fact that one of my friends worked there when they were looking for a guy to make their site.
It means nothing, of course, but I wouldn't be who I am, today, if not for this odd and inconsequential lattice. Nothing matters. Everything matters.
